Life Journey Map - Andy Rittenhouse
Andy was born in 1965. His Parent’s divorced, and a significant mentor of his was killed in a fire in High School.
He moved to Tennessee and was basically homeless.
A Christian school changed the direction of Andy’s life.
His history prepared him to reach out to hurting and downtrodden people. A man raised money to send Andy to this Christian School.
He played football and became an engineer. Andy worked for Nokia. He married in college.
Andy worked at a maximum security prison and heard Chuck Colson. He quit his job after 6 years.
Andy went to seminary in Oregon. His Mother died, so he returned to Tennessee.
He went to seminary in SC. He and his wife fell in love with Calcutta.
They went to a church plant in Knoxville. This ended the dream for Calcutta.
He was asked to do a research project on the city. This was a catalyst for churches to come together to love and bless the community. He started meeting monthly with churches and civic leaders. Several Studies have now been done.
52 churches are now involved in benevolence and they are now training churches.
Every Church should know their city and know how to mobilize their people to bless the city.
Andy has 5 boys with his wife. He wants to adopt after they have another one.
