Life Journey Map - Stacy Sublett

Stacy is the only Youth Pastor in the learning Community.

Stacy’s spiritual life started in Backyard Bible Club at 6 years old. Stacy didn’t want to go to hell so he chose heaven.

In 7th grade Stacy met Charlie Walker who introduced him to Christ in 1979, a teacher in S. Georgia. Charlie led a house church. Stacy experienced a simple liturgy in a house church, also affection, prayer and fellowship.

Stacy grew up Southern Baptist, went to a CMA College and joined a CMA church for a few years. Left at their invitation then joined an independent charismatic church.

Stacy became the Senior Pastor and preached well but he didn’t like the role. Tried to be a youth pastor but the wheels fell off of the church. Stacy and his wife ended up at Calvary Baptist Church which is the least Baptist church. Wide experience allows Stacy to relate to other youth pastors.

Harvest Evangelism came to town with a city reachers school. The youth pastors joined a city wide effort. It was lifeless and no one enjoyed coming. They decided to just come together and pray. Then in the Summer they cancelled their individual programs and had a city wide meeting. They created a city wide program. 300 students from all denominations gathered for a grassroots meeting.

This lasted a short time before lack of trust and continuity ate away at the group. In the last year they have begun to pray together and move back together. It has been a cyclical, roller coaster life for Stacy. He is praying for focus in life and ministry.
