Joyeux Noel Discussion

Leaders who are distant from the front are poor leaders

This film reminds me of Jack's third point

Leaders want to keep the status quo.

Is this film encouraging or discouraging? The reality of evil?

The Tannenburg battle was one of the worst battles of the war.

The churched and unchurched can fraternize in a similar way.

Who is the real enemy? Sometimes battles are not worth fighting.

The movie portrays a deep sense of humanity. God ordains these moments to cross the line. The story portrays an unusual space of grace in the midst of chaos.

The most misunderstood person is the medic.

Is there any just war? Is there such a thing as human evil? Is it ever just to take up arms against it.

In East, the communist party members cannot go into any church. 30% of the communist party go to church. 60 million. This is not a war between humans, it is a spiritual war. Many foreign missionaries teach that if you cannot serve a communist govt because they are the anti-Christ. This results in separations. How can we be salt and light in culture if we are separate.
