It was interesting that monks and priests were involved in working for the good of the city.

The resources to bless the city was in the city.

When they built a wall the population grew because people felt safe. Safety is a primary purpose of the city.

Necessity was the mother of invention.

Monks built a hospital so they could care for those who are building the city.

It took 30 years to build the bridge in France. If our investment of 30 years could produce generations of impact, it would be worth it.

The religious community brought not only spiritual water but physical water.

There was a time when the city needed a wall, then the city needed a bridge. The church had a time where a wall was needed, but now a bridge is needed.

The city grew because people were looking for life. If the life leaves, people will leave.

This is a good example of engagement with the city. We must look hard at the cities we minister in to understand how to bring blessing and solutions.

The challenges of the city are an opportunity for the gospel to shine.
