Ministry Model

Audio recording started: 4:15 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2006

In 1968 God called me to go the City.

What is my Nineveh? It is Bombay.

In 1979 came to Denver Seminary and met other leaders and went back to Bombay.

Beginning to reach film stars and others of influence.

Now it is not unusual for churches to have a prayer ministry, and a ministry to the poor.

50% of the city is poor.

God seems to be moving with similar vision throughout the world.

Bombay is only part of India's big picture.

May 13, 2004: the Hindu fundamentalist were set to take over the country. Began a prayer campaign reading newspapers as prayer guides. 4 million people ended up praying that the Gospel would not be stopped by a change in the government. The Hindu leadership was defeated.

NPCTI targets June 4 for 100 cities.

May 7 there was a great prayer movement.

One church in the city, many congregations. If we share this with conviction, you will see miracles. That is what we have seen in Mumbai.

God has motivated the whole city to care for the poor. 25 years ago the church left this ministry to the "liberals".

20 organizations work with HIV/AIDS. Many churches have begun awareness in their communities.

Distrust exists between mega churches and others. Don't triangle. Give good reports about others.

After May 7 meeting there was a huge question of how to pay the bills. They asked for large pledges. A house maid called and pledged a huge amount. She did not have house. She gave all she had.

They help churches start ministries to the poor and then give them away.
