Updated: To End All Wars

Tonight we watch the film To End All Wars
The following is a summary of the discussion following the film.
I didn't realize that this movie was based on Earnest Gordon's book, "Miracle on the River Kwai". This is the same death camp from the film Bridge on the River Kwai.
The book talks about how one man changed the whole attitude of the camp.
We get hung up on curse words and other things like that. But David Cunningham has made a movie about the gospel in the midst of barbaric circumstances.
At what price the Gospel?
The hardest heart in the camp was the major. Even harder than the Japanese.
As a Korean this film shows much connection for 1 billion Asians. 180,000 women were raped repeatedly during the war. In China millions were murdered. For Korean and Chinese people, we have bundles of stories of killing and rape at the hands of the Japanese. Thousands of Koreans were killed because they refused to bow to the emperor and worship him as God. Many Christian martyrs died during this time. The fruit of Korean Christianity was born out of the death of many Korean Christian martyrs.
This was a very powerful movie. It should be shown in China and Japan.
Peace is very fragile. The Armenian Genocide preceded the Jewish Genocide. The world is very wicked. Are we working to end this cycle.
I can relate to the feelings of hatred and revenge in the film.
Whether we have done anyone wrong, we all have responsibility in forgiveness.
